DIY Natural Mosquito Repellent

 

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Coconut Oil
  • 15 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Beeswax
  • 1 Empty Heat Resistant Container (Such as a Mason Jar)
  • 1 Sauce Pan (Or double boiler)

Instructions

  1. Fill the sauce pan halfway full with water and bring to boil or use double boiler.
  2. Place heat resistant container onto stove top and add beeswax and coconut oil.
  3. Allow mixture to come to a boil and melt completely.
  4. Once completely melted remove from heat.
  5. Carefully stir until mixture has cooled.
  6. Add Eucalyptus and Lemongrass essential oils.
  7. Stir until all ingredients are blended.
  8. Pour mixture into heat resistant container.
  9. Allow to cool before use.
  10. Label and store away from kids or pets.

To Use

Apply a generous amount on areas which will be exposed to bugs, careful to avoid getting solution into eyes and mouth.

DIY Masculine Face Balm

Ingredients

  • 10 Teaspoons of Cocoa Butter
  • 5 Teaspoons of Shea Butter
  • 10 Drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil
  • 1 Empty Heat Resistant Container (Such as a Mason Jar)
  • 1 Sauce Pan
  • 1 Empty Lotion Container

Instructions

  1. Fill the sauce pan halfway full with water and bring to boil or use double boiler.
  2. Place heat resistant container onto stove top and add cocoa butter and shea butter.
  3. Allow the body butters to melt completely.
  4. Remove butters from heat once they have melted and stir.
  5. Add sandalwood essential oil.
  6. Stir until all ingredients are blended.
  7. Pour mixture into heat resistant container.
  8. Allow to cool 12 hours before use.
  9. Label and store away from kids or pets.

To Use

Apply to face, arms, chest or legs for a masculine moisturizing experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Shea Butter
  • 2 tablespoons beeswax pellets
  • 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
  • 10 drops of essential oil of choice
  • Empty jars
  • Double boiler or sauce pan to melt ingredients in.

Instructions

  1. Melt shea butter and beeswax in double boiling pot on stove top.
  2. Once melted, mix in the cornstarch, baking soda and vitamin E oil.
  3. Whisk ingredients briskly and thoroughly until completely blended.
  4. Add ten drops of essential oil of choice and stir.
  5. Allow to mixture to cool.
  6. Pour mixture into empty container.
  7. Store in a cool, dry place away from kids and pets.

To Use

After bathing, apply a generous amount to underarms. Can even be applied to feet to reduce odor.

Natural Romance Candle Recipe

Ingredients

  • Candle Wicks
  • Beeswax
  • Glass Jars or Other Heat Resistant Containers for Candle Base
  • 1 Heat Resistant Bowl
  • 1 Sauce Pan  (or Double Boiler)
  • Water
  • Jasmine Essential Oil
  • Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
  • Mica Powder for coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your candle base.
  2. Clean candle base and ensure they are dry and ready for use
  3. Place a small amount of glue on the bottom of the wick to secure it to the bottom of the jar
  4. Using a stick, fork or pencil, carefully tape it to the top of the jar and wrap the wick around it to ensure it stays upright.
  5. Fill sauce pan halfway with water, heat on medium/high heat.
  6. Add beeswax into heat resistant container.
  7. Place heat resistant container filled with beeswax carefully into the heated water and stir slowly until completely melted.  (Or use a double boiler)
  8.  Add 4 drops of jasmine and ylang ylang essential oil  (Optional add Mica Powder for coloring)
  9. Use a toothpick or other small instrument to mix the wax and oil. Mix slowly to avoid burning yourself.
  10. While still warm, carefully pour the beeswax mixture into the glass jar or candle container, ensuring that the wick stays upright in the middle of the jar
  11. Let cool for 24 hours.
  12. After 24 hours, trim the wick and enjoy your natural romance candle!

Set a Sleep Schedule-

Our bodies get used to routines and setting a sleep schedule will help stimulate our body’s natural circadian rhythm to function properly. Setting a set bed time where you lay down at the same time every night will help you create healthy sleep patterns.

Avoid Electronics an Hour before Bed-

How many nights do we stay up way too late because we were scrolling through social media on our phones? A helpful tip to get more rest is to plug your phone up on the other side of the room before bed and leave it there until morning. This will limit the temptation to spend unnecessary time on social media and promote relaxation.

Dim the Lights in the Evening-

Our bodies naturally respond to light stimulation, so by dimming the lights a few hours before bed you send a signal to your brain that sleep is coming. This teaches your body to wind down and can help you fall asleep easier.  Natural light sources such as Himalayan salt lamps can provide a natural glow that will not keep you awake.  Using these in the evenings instead of traditional incandescent bulbs promotes wellness.

Drink an Herbal Tea-

  1. Melt shea butter and beeswax in double boiling pot on stove top.
  2. Once melted, mix in the carrier oil and vitamin E oil.
  3. Stir until blended.
  4. Carefully mix in the zinc oxide powder. (It is recommended you wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose to avoid breathing in the powder)
  5. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients have blended.
  6. Allow to mixture to cool.
  7. Pour mixture into glass container.
  8. Store in a cool, dry place away from kids and pets.

To Use

Apply a generous amount to areas which will be exposed to sunlight. Careful to avoid getting into eyes or mouth. Reapply as needed after swimming or excess sweating.
